FINAL REFLECTION

Looking back at everything I’ve done this semester, I honestly feel like a different person than when I first walked into class. At the beginning, I was so stressed about making everything look perfect or "right," and I kept worrying that I wasn't artistic enough. But throughout this process, I realized that art isn't actually about being a perfect painter or having some crazy natural talent. It’s just about having the courage to try things out and express what's inside your head. It really became a mirror for how I see myself, and it helped me realize that I’m way more creative and resilient than I thought. Learning to accept my mistakes instead of getting frustrated totally changed my confidence, and it taught me to finally trust my own instincts. This whole experience also completely changed how I think about art and school. I used to just see art as a fun hobby or a chill class you take to relax, but now I get that art and education are so deeply connected. A...

PRACTICE 2

In this workshop project, we completed a three-part assignment centered on art education, practical research, and classroom management . First, we analyzed the Primary Education Curriculum of the Región de Murcia to understand the specific objectives, key competencies, and assessment criteria for artistic education across different cycles . Following this curriculum review, we answered several theoretical questions about artistic creation in primary schools . Through these answers, we explained that art does not have a single correct solution but instead encourages divergent thinking, and we noted that children need to develop a sense of time and sequence in their work rather than just focusing on isolated moments . We also discussed how art connects seamlessly to other subjects and why teachers should value each child's individual journey of self-discovery rather than demanding photographic realism . Furthermore, we provided examples of sensory questions to guide stuck students, e...

Through these two projects, I explored the concepts of "Otherness" and "Uncertainty" translating them into simple visual stories, moving from a traditional painting to a digital photograph. In the first piece, Otherness , I looked at how society pushes people to fit in and follow the same routine. After taking time to think about this and getting ideas from artists who use simple shapes, I painted a large crowd of empty black outlines to show people who just follow the rules and lose their spark, but I painted one single figure solid red to represent a person who decides to break away from the crowd and fill their life with happiness, passion, and their own true identity. In the second piece, Uncertainty , I wanted to capture that confused feeling we get when we have to make a hard choice, especially when we are torn between the digital world on our phones and the real world around us. Inspired by artists who paint motion and speed, I took a photo where the desk and...

WEEK MAY 4th

This past Thursday, March 7th, we presented our projects on the concepts of space and time. Working on this assignment was an amazing experience for me. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me pause to think about what we actually know about reality versus what we just assume to be true. It was incredibly fascinating to dive into those big questions. Plus, getting to be creative with how we presented those ideas was definitely a highlight for me.

WEEK APRIL 27th

Tuesday was the day that the children came to the university.  They had a lot of fun, but they didn’t take the emotional side of the activities very seriously. Here is how the day went: In t he kids picked a color based on their mood, and then used it to paint a paper. They enjoyed the painting, but chose colors more for fun than for their actual feelings. In the second one, t hey used clay to make objects representing tough feelings like frustration. They loved building things, but treated it more like playtime than a serious reflection. The, for the third activity, t hey put their work together into a big mural to show how they could help a friend dealing with hard emotions. They liked working together, but the final ideas were pretty simple because they were just focused on having fun. Overall, it was a fun day for them, but they missed the deeper meaning of the activities.
